Product-Related FAQ

Yes! All of our cheese is manufactured in Wisconsin and carries the “Proudly Wisconsin Cheese” badge on the packaging.

Yes! Our cheeses are crafted using pasteurized milk to ensure quality, safety, and flavor.

All of our cheeses are naturally gluten-free—except when a flavoring, like beer in our Beer Cheddar, contains gluten. If it’s not labeled with an added gluten ingredient, it’s gluten-free.

Freezing cheese is possible, but results vary by type. Soft cheeses like Mozzarella, Havarti, and Muenster do not freeze well—they tend to develop a grainy texture. However, if you’re using them for cooking, this texture change is usually not noticeable.

Hard and semi-hard cheeses such as Colby and Cheddar freeze better but may become crumbly, especially sharper varieties. In general, the sharper the cheese, the more likely it is to crumble after thawing.

If you choose to freeze cheese, the best method is to freeze it quickly and thaw it slowly. Place vacuum-sealed cheese directly into the freezer and allow it to thaw gradually in the refrigerator.

For long-term storage of hard cheeses, freezing isn’t necessary. As long as they remain vacuum-sealed, they can be safely stored in the refrigerator well beyond the “Sell By” date, which indicates best quality—not food safety.

Nope! All of our cheeses are made with milk from cows not treated with rBGH or artificial hormones.

We offer a variety of cheese flavors, including both naturally smoked and smoke-flavored options. If a product contains added smoke flavoring, it will be clearly listed as “Smoke Flavoring” in the ingredients.

None of our cheeses are made with animal rennet.

Nearly all of our sausage and meat stick products are gluten-free—the only exception is our Teriyaki Snack Stick, which contains soy sauce. All of our meat items are keto-friendly, with just 1–2 grams of carbohydrates per serving.

Our meat sticks and summer sausages are naturally smoked using a proprietary blend of hardwoods that gives them their signature bold, savory flavor.
